Job Description
The Procurement Officer’s responsibilities including supervising staff, maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases and maintaining accurate records.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
- Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, among others.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
- Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, Business Management or a similar field preferred
- 2 to 5 years experience in a similar role
- Computer literacy qualification is essential. Proven ability to utilize and develop computerized spreadsheets and word processing applications
- Procurement Software and Asset Software experience
