Job Position: Quantity Surveyor

Job Location: Abraham Adesanya – Ajah, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with analyzing existing budgets and control cost, preparing estimates, negotiating contracts and quotes, as well as building and managing relationship with project stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements (Bill of Quantities).
  2. Procuring materials needed for construction
  3. Preparation of detailed Labour and material schedule
  4. Tendering and negotiating with Subcontractors and Vendors
  5. Coordinating the movement of materials from storage facility to site
  6. Liaising with Site Managers, Clients, Contractors, and Subcontractors.
  7. Prepare reports, analyze cost, administer contracts, manage budgets, assess and manage risk, and prepare other necessary documents.
  8. Tracking of Subcontractor’s payment and invoices for adequate payment record.
  9. Management of orders and reorder levels.
  10. Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  11. Ensuring project at hand meet contract and quality standards
  12. Managing the storage and usage of materials for construction effectively.
  13. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal Stakeholders.
  14. Performing market survey to ensure materials are bought in best conditions and prices
  15. Visiting various sites as at when required.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar.
  2. Minimum of four years working experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  3. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  4. Excellent attention to details
  5. Ability to work with a team
  6. Sound knowledge of construction.
  7. Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
  9. Great networking abilities.
