Job Position: Group Head, Business Development

Job Description

  • The Head, Business Development is responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing relationships with Partners, clients, Project Managers, Governments, and others.
  • The Head, Business Development is also responsible for Coordinating and managing operational matters in the office as may be assigned and providing support to the leadership for the Company’s activities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Identify and develop relationships with prospective partners, chants, Governments, and industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
  2. Create and expand the company’s footprint and build positive top of mind awareness.
  3. Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development opportunities and activities and other key indicators to the company management team.
  4. Structure and raise appropriate funding for company projects.
  5. Coordinate and help produce proposals as assigned, ensuring that proposals meet specifications and deadlines.
  6. Seek out the appropriate contacts in relevant organisations Generate leads and cold call prospective partners, customers, and clients.
  7. Formulate Business Development strategy – setting the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business.
  8. Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning to implement relevant operational
  9. Ensure Departmental staff are conversant with the business strategy, understand what is required of them, and have the requisite skills to Successfully execute the strategy.
  10. Identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends.
  11. Interface with relevant senior officials in Government and other prospective partners, and represent the Company at events, meetings, and other business development activities.
  12. Cultivate and maintain a strong network of key relationships, and prospects and presentations.
  13. Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements
Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Economics, Law, Finance, or Real Estate.
  • Project Management certification will be an added advantage.

Years of experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in business development and project management aimed within a corporate setting, ideally in a financial institution real estate development or construction company.

  3. Ability to initiate and develop projects.

  8. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
  9. Exposure to Financial modelling
  10. Corporate Finance.
