Job Description

  • As Head, Finance and Accounts, you will be responsible for all company financial activities, ensuring the company remains in good financial standing and steers clear of all Financial related regulatory infractions.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Take full ownership of all financial data and responsibility for the accuracy of each financial statement line item, including monthly reporting of results as well as the annual audit.
  2. Creating KPIs for the Finance Team.
  3. Oversees the preparation of the annual budgets and monitors actual costs against the budgets.
  4. Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
  5. Drive awareness and insightful analyses of market trends to ascertain risks and opportunities across business segments.
  6. Draft regular analysis reports on all business segments on market opportunities for senior management, business leadership and executives, and relevant stakeholders to support decision making across the Company.
  7. Monitor competitor activities and benchmark activities and performance with Competitors.
  8. Coordinate the formulation of long-term and short-term product policies and oversee internal consulting projects for business units and departments.
  9. Independently interact and collaborate with all stakeholders.
  10. Assess trends; incorporate financial rigour and competitive, consumer and market research. Identify and evaluate long-term strategic investments, opportunities, businesses, and alliances.
  11. Allocate resources and manage cash flows.
  12. Evaluate and decide on investment of company funds.
  13. Oversees the preparation of the Management Accounts.

Tax Duties:

  1. Advise Management on the tax implication of the Company’s business operations and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities while remaining within the ambit of tax laws.
  2. Extract and reconcile tax information from the financial and accounting system.
  3. Oversee the computation and filing of all tax returns (such as PAYE, VAT and WHT) including related reports, to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
  4. Process and keep up to date with regard to relevant tax exemption certificates as required.
  5. Conduct periodic reconciliation of tax related general ledger accounts.
  6. Maintain accurate and complete records of all tax transactions (tax returns, support receipts and certification) and related balance sheet activity for tax and audit purposes.

Fund Account Duties:

  1. Ensure accurate unit prices are generated.
  2. Oversee the periodic maintenance of all Fund Ledgers.
  3. Maintain the integrity of general ledger including charts of accounts.
  4. Preparation of Funds annual audited financial statements.
  5. Liaise with external auditors for auditing of the Funds’ annual statutory position.
  6. Ensure compliance with The National Pension Commission (PENCOM) for all Funds.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree qualification with at least 10 years work experience.
