Job Position: Country Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities
Your daily adventures include:

  1. Contacting potential partners-acquirers and banks, building relationships with them
  2. Negotiating and executing commercial partnerships and agreements
  3. Working with internal teams on operations/product/technology road maps and integration of partnerships
  4. Analysing performance results and optimizing accordingly
  5. Improving operational capabilities for the different payment methods
  6. Staying on top of local regulatory/licensing requirements and how it impacts the company’s business
  7. Working closely with merchants and commercial team, focusing on the development of key products
  8. Maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, attending conferences and industry events
  9. Contacting with local lawyers, accountants, and tax experts in order to ensure the operation is running accordingly
  10. Staying on top of local regulations and engaging with regulators when necessary.

What it Takes To Succeed

  1. Open to constant change in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, a self-starter, open to working across time zones with teams all over the world
  2. Proven experience in payments or other financial systems in Africa
  3. Proven success partnering and working cross-functionally to make things happen
  4. Significant experience negotiating and executing contracts and agreements
  5. Established relevant business network
  6. Someone willing and able to take smart risks based on solid strategy and deep partnership understanding
  7. Team player – can effectively lead a project or participate as an effective team member as well as work cross-functionally with other organizations
  8. Curious profile and positive attitude
  9. Thorough knowledge of the market
  10. Technical knowledge will be considered a plus
  11. Commitment to compliance and understanding of the regulatory environment in Nigeria.
