Job Position: Agricultural Sales Associate

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  1. Demonstrates use of agricultural equipment or machines.
  2. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  3. Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  4. Solicits orders from customers in person or by phone.
  5. Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
  6. Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  7. “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
  8. Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
  9. Actively seek out customers in store
  10. Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  11. Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  12. Cross sell products
  13. Handle returns of merchandise
  14. Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  15. Build productive trust relationships with customers
  16. Comply with inventory control procedures
  17. Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g., planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design).
  18. Recommends changes in customer use of agricultural products to improve production.
  19. Prepares reports of business transactions.
  20. Informs customer of estimated delivery schedule, service contracts, warranty, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
  21. Displays or shows customer agricultural related products.
  22. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  23. Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

Job Requirements

  1. High School Degree; B.Sc in Agriculture, Marketing or related field would be a plus
  2. Proven work experience as an Agricultural Sales Associate or similar role
  3. Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  4. Proficiency in English
  5. Basic Math skills
  6. Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  7. Track record of over-achieving sales quota
  8. Hands-on experience with POS transactions
  9. Familiarity with inventory procedures
  10. Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  11. A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  12. Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
