Job Position: Surface Miner Operator / Attendant

Job Location: Ogun State

Job Description

  1. Operate and attend to Surface Miners in mines operations as well as carrying out routine maintenance along with the Surface Miner Maintenance teams.
  2. Sets up and operates surface miner in a safe manner
  3. Positions and secures along lines of cut within the limestone body
  4. Selects grinding wheel, grinding speeds, and feed rates for each operation according to knowledge of metal properties and abrasives, and mounts.
  5. Observe a safe distance between the machine and other hauling equipment while maneuvering the surface miner for a fresh line of cut
  6. Turns valve handle and direct flow of coolant against the cutting bits of the drums.
  7. Verifies dimensions of ground workpiece for conformance to Mines specifications.
  8. Respond to troubleshoot indicators in the machine.
  9. Report major breakdowns to Shift supervisor/Engineer/Managers on duty
  10. Participate in tool box talks and safety induction
  11. Participate in routine maintenance work with the maintenance team

Job Requirements

  1. ND Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  2. TRADE TEST I-III
  3. Good communication skill
  4. Ability to work under pressure
  5. A good Team Player and ability to learn
