Job Position: Deputy Finance Manager

Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description

  1. In this position you will be, together with the Resident Finance Manager, responsible for all finance and accounting matters of the DEME Group companies in Nigeria.
  2. You will be responsible to make sure that all DEME Group procedures and legal requirements are complied with related to accounting, finance and tax. You will manage a team and will be responsible for the financial statements, tax reporting, commercial reporting and managing risk and opportunities. You will also be involved in advising in the tender process.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure or execute statutory and commercial accounting according to the legal requirements and IFRS guidelines.
  2. Analyse financial results, monitor the budgeting and forecasting control cycle, identify and analyse potential financial risk areas and support or monitor the implementation of risk mitigating activities.
  3. Draw cash flow forecasts and analyse and monitor these, as well as monitor, analyse and advice on hedging of foreign cash flows and fuel.
  4. Ensure all in- and external commercial and financial reporting on the project phases and end results of the project and/or business units, signal issues and opportunities to in- and external stakeholders, in line with the reporting procedures and deadlines of the DEME Group.
  5. Provide detailed advice and signal opportunities for improvement to (Project) Management on project related financial matters, such as financing possibilities for clients on projects.
  6. Ensure up-to-date knowledge of (local) financial and fiscal laws, theories and developments and financial contractual requirements and apply and share knowledge with colleagues and relevant stakeholders.
  7. Work and act in accordance with the applicable QHSE-S instructions and measures, take appropriate measures in case of accidents and hazardous situations and draw proposals for improvement.
  8. Ensure financial project administration, design and follow-up planning, organisation of on-site logistics, staff support, facilities and general administration, in line with local and legal requirements.
  9. Plan, lead and develop project members, assure adequate training of personnel.
  10. Ad hoc tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree preferably with Accounting major or related field.
  • 10 years of progressive responsibility in accounting related functions (with at least 5 years in supervisory role).
  • Proven knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proven knowledge of transaction taxes.
  • Maintain overview of the day-to-day accounting process.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • ACA or ACCA certified.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Experience working with an international company is a plus.
