Job Position: Business Analyst

Job Description

  1. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst to join our team.
  2. As a Business Analyst, you play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our business objectives and technology solutions.
  3. You will analyse business processes, gather requirements, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and other strategic performance indicators of the business.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders, such as business users, product managers, and technical teams, to elicit and document business requirements for this mobile telecom business. This includes understanding user needs, process flows, system functionalities and applicable regulatory provisions.
  2. Analyze large datasets, including customer data, network performance metrics, and market trends, to extract insights and patterns.
  3. Utilize data visualization techniques to present findings and make data-driven recommendations.
  4. Design & identify areas of improvement within business processes, such as customer onboarding, billing, service provisioning, and network management. Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance operational efficiency.
  5. Assess and evaluate potential technology solutions, such as CRM systems, billing platforms, distribution, etc., to support business objectives.
  6. Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations that are realistic, affordable and simple.
  7. Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  8. Monitor project deliverables closely, identifying risks to acceptance, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  9. Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that the people and process implications of the new solution are identified and comprehensively addressed. An ideal candidate will understand the principles of both system and design thinking.
  10. Facilitate effective communication between business users, technical teams, and management.
  11. Ensure the conversations between these teams aren’t fractured. Translate technical jargon into business-friendly language and vice versa, ensuring that all parties have a clear understanding of requirements and project deliverables.

Job Requirements

  1. Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Computer Science, or Telecommunications is required. Some organizations may prefer candidates with a master’s degree or an MBA.
  2. Strong understanding of telecommunications industry trends, technologies, and regulatory frameworks is essential.
  3. Familiarity with telecommunication networks, services (voice, data, wireless), and related business processes is beneficial.
  4. An understanding of the different customer personas applicable to this business and drivers of brand affinity is highly essential.
  5. The proposed work environment is a digital first business.
  6. The ideal candidate will therefore be attuned to digital business models and be adept in designing solutions that are simple, affordable, convenient based on streamlined user journeys, delivering endearing user experiences.
  7. Digital services often involve ecosystems with players across many verticals e.g., telecoms, financial services, logistics, etc.
  8. An ideal candidate will bring a good understanding of this and good domain knowledge of the trends and value pockets.
  9. Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving techniques is crucial.
  10. Business Analysts should be comfortable working with complex datasets, conducting root cause analyses, and deriving meaningful insights to drive decision-making.
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective stakeholder engagement, requirement elicitation, and documentation.
  12. Business Analysts must be able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  13. Familiarity with software development methodologies, database systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau) is advantageous.
  14. Knowledge of business analysis frameworks and tools (e.g., BPMN, UML, JIRA) is also beneficial.
