Job Position: Gender Integration Analyst

Job Description

  1. The Gender M&E Officer will support the Gender Integration Specialist in strategizing, implementing, tracking, and documenting gender mainstreaming activities within SCIDaR in a bid to ensure effective gender mainstreaming, and performance measurement and provide valuable insights to inform decision-making and enhance program effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation Planning:

  1. Collaborate with the Gender Integration Specialist to develop gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and indicators;
  2. Develop gender-specific data collection methodologies and data management systems in collaboration with the Gender Integration Specialist;
  3. Support the design and implementation of baseline and end-line assessments related to gender mainstreaming within SCIDaR and across projects.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  1. Coordinate the collection of gender-disaggregated data, both qualitative and quantitative, from various sources;
  2. Conduct data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation using appropriate statistical tools and techniques;
  3. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and verification processes;
  4. Identify trends, patterns, and gaps related to gender mainstreaming and provide insights for decision-making.

Reporting and Documentation:

  1. Prepare regular reports on gender-related indicators, progress, and outcomes;
  2. Contribute to the development of comprehensive project reports, including the integration of gender-related findings and recommendations;
  3. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Learning and Knowledge Sharing:

  1. Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning within the SCIDaR and global communities of practice on institutional gender mainstreaming by documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories related to gender integration;
  2. Support the organization of workshops, seminars, and other platforms for sharing gender-related insights and experiences.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:

  1. Academic Training: A Bachelor’s Degree, MBA, or Master’s Degree in Applied Statistics, Data Analytics and Information Systems Management, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation or related research roles, demonstrating their ability to design and implement monitoring and evaluation activities, analyze data, and contribute to reporting;
  • Experience with different data collection methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups) and proficiency in data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, or qualitative analysis tools);
  • Familiarity with M&E frameworks and experience using M&E tools and software;
  • Experience in preparing reports, documenting findings, and effectively communicating M&E results to different stakeholders.

Core Requirements:

  1. Compelling evidence of interest in and commitment to the mission of SCIDaR;
  2. Demonstrated experience in designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, with a focus on gender integration and mainstreaming;
  3. Knowledge of research and evaluation methodologies, including experimental design, sampling techniques, data quality assurance, research ethics, and data protection methods;
  4. Good understanding of result-based management principles, including setting SMART objectives, tracking progress against indicators, and conducting evaluations to assess program effectiveness and impact;
  5. Computer usage skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  6. Strong data collection and analytical skills with proficiency in at least one of STATA, SPSS, R, and/or Excel (advanced functions);
  7. Fast learner, open to learning from peers, subordinates, and supervisors collaboratively and at a rapid pace;
  8. Knowledge of gender equality frameworks, international development principles, and best practices;
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner;
  10. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, facilitate discussions, and manage stakeholder expectations;
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to think critically, apply logical reasoning, and propose data-driven recommendations for program improvement.

Terms of Appointment

  1. This is a full-time position based at SCIDaR headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria;
  2. Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience;
  3. Analyst may be required to undertake local and international travels to state offices, partner organizations, conferences or workshops.
