Job Position: Project Manager – Agricultural Systems Resilience Enhancement Project

Job Description

  1. Our team seeks a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead the “Agricultural Systems Resilience Enhancement through Effective Early Climate Action in Nigeria” project.
  2. This ambitious project aims to enhance climate early warning infrastructure, improve risk management and resilience in agriculture, and promote sustainable development in Nigeria.
  3. As the Project Manager, you will be pivotal in coordinating and overseeing all project activities, ensuring successful execution, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with project objectives.

Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will fulfill the following primary responsibilities:

  1. Lead the project’s coordination, planning, and implementation in close collaboration with a consortium of local and international partners.
  2. Develop and manage a comprehensive project governance and management framework to ensure effective execution and stakeholder engagement.
  3. Facilitate collaboration and partnerships among key stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutes, and technical partners.
  4. Ensure the project’s strategic direction, resource allocation, and policy alignment through regular engagement with the project steering committee and funders.
  5. Oversee project reporting, documentation, and knowledge sharing to ensure transparency, accountability, and lessons learned.
  6. Manage project risks, conflicts, and resolution, ensuring project objectives and targets are met.
  7. Supervise project staff, consultants, and partners to ensure their effective contribution to project outcomes.

Job Requirements
We are looking for candidates with passion for agriculture that are driven and self-starters. Below are the essential qualifications we are looking for:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Agriculture, Environmental Science, Project Management, International Development).
  2. Proven experience in managing and coordinating complex development projects, preferably related to climate adaptation, agriculture, or resilience.
  3. Strong understanding of climate change adaptation, early warning systems, and their application in agriculture and rural development.
  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, technical partners, and community representatives.
  5. Experience in building and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborations.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
