Job Position: Communications Manager (French-Speaking)

Job Description

  1. We are looking to hire a Communications Manager, who is a native speaker of French or can speak French fluently, to support our dynamic team of specialists and designers.
  2. The Communications Manager will work across project teams and closely with the Specialist, designers, and the Chief Executive to manage client deliverables and day-to-day company activities.

Job Responsibilities
The Communications Manager will:

  1. Develop and execute strategic communications plans and awareness-building campaigns for client projects.
  2. Interact with senior-level government and donor partners to build and strengthen relationships on behalf of the company.
  3. Develop Credo literature, deliverables, and other creative materials to promote Credo’s communications objectives.
  4. Develop and transcribe communication products in French.
  5. Engage with francophone stakeholders within and outside Nigeria.
  6. Produce and deploy an extensive range of materials (e.g., reports, emails, meeting minutes, newsletters, brochures, press releases, fact sheets, etc.) and communications creatives (videos, pamphlets, banners, documentaries, radio jingles, GIFs, etc.) for client-related projects.
  7. Support Credo’s business development activities, such as proposals, whitepapers, conferences, and thought leadership materials.
  8. Support Credo management on all administrative and company activities.
  9. Plan and organize high-quality/high-profile press and client-related events.
  10. Supervise industry-focused opinion research, news, and social media monitoring.
  11. Support the management of various databases, websites, and social media accounts.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing Communications.
  2. Must be a native French speaker or fluent in French at B2 level.
  3. Interested candidates should be based in Nigeria or any Francophone African country.
  4. At least 10 years of work experience in development communications and public affairs.
  5. Knowledge of communications approaches, tools, and methodologies useful in planning, executing, and monitoring public campaigns and communication strategies (e.g., stakeholder mapping and engagement analysis, core message development, media relations, social media monitoring, digital campaigns, advertising, public campaigns, opinion research, audience outreach, and message targeting).
  6. Experience producing well-written press releases, speeches, feature articles, Op/ Ed pieces and publications, scripts, and other materials.
  7. A well-developed network of media contacts with key media outlets.
  8. Proven track record of executing high-impact communications projects.
  9. Proven expertise in designing and implementing advocacy campaigns on public interest issues at an international level.
  10. Ability to plan, design, and implement communication products and activities (such as print and electronic media products, social media, workshops, stakeholder meetings, focus group discussions, etc.).
