Job Position: Hospital / Business Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, government officials, and other community partners.
  2. Develop new policies for the hospital to improve patient experience and satisfaction.
  3. Ensure that all hospital policies and procedures are being followed by staff and that any deviations are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  4. Implement business development strategies that meet overall organizational goals
  5. Maintain a high level of communication with staff, patients, and families to ensure that everyone is kept up to date on the latest hospital news, changes, and events.
  6. Manage the hospital’s budget and financial planning, ensuring that the hospital remains fiscally responsible.
  7. Ensure efficient administration of the Hospital, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  8. Ensure that there is proper accounting for and control over all income and expenditure of the Hospital.
  9. Monitor expenses and suggest cost-effective alternatives to management.
  10. Work with the HODs in operations, patient care, finance, staffing, and facility maintenance and ensure continuous improvement
  11. Work with the finance department and operations department in debt recovery and payment from retainers (hospitals and HMOs).
  12. Formula tea plan and propose various marketing strategies in accordance with corporate policy for the hospital brand.
  13. Plan and oversee the construction and renovation of hospital buildings and facilities.
  14. Stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in the healthcare industry and ensure that the hospital is keeping up with these changes.
  15. Streamline the operational procedures of the facility to provide patients with the best care.
  16. Assess strategic partnership opportunities with several business stakeholders in the industry
  17. Creating a communication plan to be used across all marketing and PR
  18. Monthly detailed report of the activity should be submitted to the management

Job Requirements

  • First Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or Masters, MBA or PhD, or a degree-level equivalent qualification in a Health or Management-related.
  • 7 – 9 years of experience as a Business Manager in aHospital
  • Hands-on experience with database systems and proficient in the use of MicrosoftExcel
  • Solid understanding of healthcare procedures and regulations

  2. Decision-making ability, particularly in sensitive areas such as the allocation of funds or organizing staff levels for a unit;
  3. Initiative and leadership skills and the ability to gain the trust, commitment and cooperation of others;
  4. The ability to grasp clinical issues, including the understanding of treatments and evolving medical technologies;
  5. Organisational skills to deal with a diverse range of challenges;
  6. Numeracy and the ability to analyze complex issues, absorb information, understand data, and identify underlying trends;
