Job Position: Data Analyst

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  • The Data Analyst is responsible for identifying business trends and changes through advanced Big Data Analytics and using a variety of techniques to interpret results from multiple data sources through statistical analysis, data aggregation, and data mining.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Undertaking data collection, pre-processing and analysis
  2. Building models to address business problems
  3. Presenting information using data visualization techniques
  4. Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  5. Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
  6. Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  7. Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  8. Combine models through ensemble modelling
  9. Present information using data visualization techniques
  10. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  11. Responsible for cleansing of large unstructured data and enabling analytical capability in order to query the data and address various business needs.

Job Requirements
Education/ Professional  Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or minimum relevant degree
  2. Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience

Key Skills and Competencies Requirement:
Functional/ Technical:

  1. Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
  2. Knowledge of Google Functions, Google Big Query, Google Cloud Storage, Stitch Data.
  3. Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
  4. Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
  5. Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
