Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the vibrant location of Victoria Island.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- As an accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate and analyze financial reports for management review.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Contribute to financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support their budgeting and financial analysis needs.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- HND / B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or relevant Degree.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like Quick Books etc.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
