Job Description

  1. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our growing fintech team. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
  2. You will also be responsible for providing financial analysis and insights to support our strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage day to day accounting – To enable the smooth running of all financial aspects of the company and implement appropriate controls over incoming and outgoing transactions!
  2. Manage month-end closing and reporting process – To provide information in a timely, complete, and accurate manner!
  3. Review, reconciliation, and Monitoring of production cost with Industry standard.
  4. Analyse business trends and provide insights to management.
  5. Continuously monitor financial and business KPI’s, highlight trends and analyses causes of unexpected variance. Partner with teams to improve results.
  6. Ensured Financial and Management accounting takes place strictly in accordance with the accounting policy.
  7. Implement internal controls over financial reporting – always Maintain the integrity of data/numbers.
  8. To ensure reconciliation of front end and ERP System
  9. Exercising controls overall BS positions especially Fixed Assets, Inventory control, Accounts Payables, Account Receivables, and Cash/bank balances
  10. Prepare and submit financial reports to regulatory agencies.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.
  12. Prepare tax returns and other tax-related documents and assist with financial audits and reviews.
  13. Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  14. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  15. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and investors.
  16. Identify and evaluate financial risks.
  17. Develop and implement strategies to improve financial efficiency and profitability.
  18. Liaising with local banks and central banks for forex payment and Manage cash position.
  19. Stay up to date on the latest accounting standards, tax regulations, and fintech developments.
  20. Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  21. Take on new challenges and projects to expand expertise.

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc / HND in Finance, Accounting or Computer Science
  2. Certifications ICAEW / ICAS / ACCA / ICAN / CIMA / ACT / CFA
  3. A minimum of 4+ years experience in a fintech environment including Banking, Trading, payment gateways and knowledge of financial markets across regions
  4. A Fintech Fanatic

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies & Abilities:

  1. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accounting principles, financial reporting, and possess a keen eye for detail.
  2. They should be capable of managing accounts, preparing financial statements.
  3. Experience with fintech software in a banking, trading, or payment gateway environment
  4. Experience in financial analytical modelling
  5. Excellent experience in Excel, Google sheets, power point and financial modelling tools
  6. Excellent team building and management skills.
  7. Good Financial Policy formulation and implementation
