Job Description
- A Mobile Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications that run on various mobile platforms, such as iOS and Android.
- They work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals, to create high-quality mobile applications that meet user needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Mobile App Development: Design and develop mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using programming languages like Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript.
- Coding and Testing: Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough testing to ensure applications are bug-free and perform optimally.
- User Interface (UI) Design: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly app interfaces.
- API Integration: Integrate third-party APIs and web services to enhance app functionality, such as social media sharing, payment gateways, or geolocation services.
- Cross-Platform Development: Utilize cross-platform development tools like React Native to build apps that work on multiple platforms.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize app performance, including speed, responsiveness, and battery usage, for a smooth user experience.
- Security: Implement security best practices to protect user data and the application from potential threats.
- Version Control: Use version control systems (e.g., Git) to track changes, collaborate with other developers, and manage code repositories.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals, to define requirements and deliver a high-quality product.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of code, development processes, and application features.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues reported by users or QA testers.
- Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies.
Job Requirements
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is typically preferred, but experience and practical skills are often just as important.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with mobile app development frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of mobile platform-specific guidelines and best practices for app development.
Experience:
- Prior experience in mobile app development, with a portfolio of published apps.
- Understanding of the app submission and approval process on platforms like the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Creativity and a passion for staying up to date with industry trends and new technologies.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with cross-platform development frameworks like React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin (if applicable).
- Knowledge of user interface and user experience design principles.
- Familiarity with app testing and debugging tools.
- Strong understanding of mobile app security and encryption protocols.
Salary
N80,000 – N120,000 / month.
