Job Description
- The Intern, Human Resources will assist with People and Culture Operations. The internship provides hands-on experience in various people and culture functions, with a focus on ensuring the completion of employee documentation, HR administration, and compliance with relevant Evidence Action and labor practices.
- The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a strong determination to contribute to the excellence of HR service delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Participate in employee engagement activities, including organizing team-building events and recognition programs.
- Assist in handling employee inquiries and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate training programs and initiatives.
- Help track employee training and development activities.
- Support the timesheet process during payroll for temporary hires and review staff timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with tracking progress of people and culture annual priorities.
- Provide general and clerical support to the People and Culture department and other duties as required.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Administration or Social Sciences.
- One (1) Year or less Post-NYSC experience working in the human resources department of an organization.
- A demonstrated ability to process information into action in a timely manner.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to use the following Microsoft Productivity tools: PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Human Resources
- Familiarity with HR information databases and searchable resources.
- International Development experience (Experience working for a non-profit)
Working Conditions:
- The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
