Job Position: Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our talented team at 1UBank. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing software infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our applications. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a forward-thinking digital bank and be a key player in driving operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Create, manage, and integrate software infrastructure to automate and secure public/private cloud environments, primarily on AWS.
  2. Develop and implement solutions that can support large capacity and scale reliably in a 24/7 environment.
  3. Implement and uphold security and data protection best practices.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination and communication during the development and deployment processes.
  5. Hands-on involvement in the development of critical products and provide technical support as needed.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering/Development, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS.
  3. Certifications related to AWS and DevOps practices are highly desirable.

Required Skills:

  1. Proficient in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes with hands-on experience.
  2. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including Fargate, ECR, EKS, ECS, and other serverless offerings.
  3. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  4. Strong understanding of information security best practices.
  5. Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL databases.
  6. Expertise in using Jenkins for building, deploying, and automating application deployment.
  7. Solid grasp of networking fundamentals.
  8. Proficient in Unix/Linux distributions and bash scripting.
  9. In-depth understanding of HTTP and experience debugging REST applications.
