Job Position: WordPress Web Developer

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  1. Develops the website and applications.
  2. Designs web pages including graphics, animation and functionality to maximise visual effectiveness and facilitate appropriate access.
  3. We are looking for an experienced and passionate WordPress Developer to join our IT team! As a WordPress Developer at our company, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins.
  4. We are expecting you to have a strong understanding of latest industry trends and content management systems.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Formulating a website design that is responsive and error-free
  2. Developing and maintaining websites, intranets, applications, and custom programs
  3. Maintaining the CMS for optimal performance
  4. Working with Designers to Perfect Site Aesthetics
  5. Working with the back-end and website architecture
  6. Generating, creating and updating WordPress themes and plugins
  7. Monitoring live website performance
  8. Conducting performance tests and troubleshooting issues
  9. Providing diagnostic reports of website performance
  10. Taking care of security and compliance standards
  11. Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
  12. Liaising with other developers in the team.
  13. Establishing strong professional relationships with clients and other professionals.
  14. Conducting research and keeping abreast of software development trends.
  15. Create/update guidelines, records and documentation.
  16. The WordPress Developer is responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates.

Job Requirements

  1. Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  2. Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  3. Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  4. Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  5. Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  6. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  7. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  8. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}
  9. Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
