Job Position: Human Resources Assistant

Job Location: Egbeda, Lagos

Job Description 

  1. We are searching for a qualified HR assistant to provide administrative support to our Human Resources department.
  2. Reporting to the HR Officer, the assistant will help with payroll, recruiting, scheduling, and training tasks.
  3. The assistant will also act as the primary liaison between the department and other employees.
  4. Our HR assistant will be a key part of ensuring employee success and will have room to grow their career.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist with recruiting tasks such as reviewing resumes, conducting and scheduling interviews, hiring, and following up with candidates
  2. Schedule and coordinate onboarding assignments and training sessions
  3. Compile and process employee documentation and records, and keep the employee database up to date
  4. Assist the HR manager with formulating policies, procedures, and changes, as well as communicating all updates to employees
  5. Maintain the departmental email account, responding to employee questions and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  6. Track employee attendance, PTO, and leaves, and assist with payroll processing and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related
  • 1-2 years of experience in HR
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exposure to payroll practices.
  • Proficiency in administrative duties such as communications, data entry, and record keeping
  • Enthusiasm for working within a team environment
  • Tact and professionalism when it comes to handling confidential information and addressing employee concerns
  • Proficiency with technology, and the ability to pick up new software easily
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Desire to grow within the company
  2. Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations.
  3. Effective HR administration and people management skills.
  4. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
