Job Position: Product Designer

Job Location: Lagos (Remote)

Job Description

  1. We are seeking a Product Designer with a passion for developing solutions that allow customers to intuitively use our products.
  2. The ideal candidate will be skilled at each stage of the design process but always focused on the needs of the customer.
  3. In this role, you will be responsible for designing product features and user experiences for one or more of our various products.
  4. By constantly focusing on our customers, you’ll create products that are not only amazing to look at, but also intuitive and useful to all.
  5. You must be a brilliant problem solver, self-starter, and excellent communicator with a passion for great design and the ability to achieve it.
  6. You must possess a rare blend of interface design, user experience design and prototyping skills.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Cross-functional collaboration between product managers, engineers to turn ideas into visually compelling and user-friendly designs.
  2. Use research tools and methodologies to understand user needs.
  3. Generate low and high-fidelity prototypes for research purposes.
  4. Contribute to the Edukoya design system.
  5. Provide on-demand assistance to teams at various stages of the product life cycle.
  6. You will work with cross-functional team members and will rely heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to gain insights.
  7. You will turn your insights into delightful designs
  8. Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research.
  9. Identify new product improvement opportunities.
  10. Analyze how a new product satisfies market needs and consumer preferences.
  11. Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences.
  12. Work closely with product engineers to suggest improvements for products and processes.
  13. Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Job Requirements

  1. A comprehensive and well-rounded portfolio of work, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer needs
  2. Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
  3. An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
  4. Excellent attention to detail
  5. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
  6. Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
  7. Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
  8. Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
  9. Creative problem-solving skills
  10. Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
  11. Provide assistance to product engineers when needed
  12. Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
  13. Previous startup experience or previous Edtech experience is a plus
