Job Position: Senior DevOps / GitOps Engineer

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  1. As a Senior DevOps/GitOps Engineer, your main responsibilities include designing system architecture, defining the roadmap, and building, scaling, and monitoring our complex applications to enhance the availability of our container orchestration cluster.
  2. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Kubernetes and other container orchestration tools, as well as in logging and monitoring systems for these platforms.

Job Responsibilities
What you’ll do:

  1. Architecting and deploying optimal solutions for one or more projects as part of the delivery team, ensuring they align with project specifications.
  2. Providing technology consultation, assisting in defining project scope and work sizing to ensure effective project execution.
  3. Contributing to competency development to ensure deployment of best-fit, high-quality technical solutions, and maintaining compliance with company guidelines, policies, and norms.
  4. Designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to facilitate seamless integration and delivery, aligning with our clients’ and internal product teams’ needs for next-generation solutions.
  5. Establishing and enforcing cloud computing best practices to maintain a secure, efficient, and scalable environment.
  6. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and product developers, to ensure successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  7. Staying abreast of the latest cloud technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and provide cutting-edge solutions.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  2. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  3. Required hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
  4. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is necessary.
  5. Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Action and ArgoCD for continuous delivery to ensure reliable and efficient release cycles.
  6. Strong proficiency required in a range of AWS services, including but not limited to VPC/subnets, IAM, ECR, ECS, EKS, Cert Mgr, ALB, Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB.
  7. Strong proficiency with monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, Fluentbit, Prometheus & Grafana Stack.
  8. Must have proficiency in scripting languages, Python or Go, for developing automation scripts and deployment pipelines.
