Job Position: Backend Developer

Job Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description
To design, implement and maintain functional and secure applications and back-end services to meet overall business and technological objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Participate
  2. Write clean code to develop functional web applications
  3. Troubleshoot and debug applications
  4. Perform UI tests to optimize performance
  5. Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
  6. Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  7. Gather and address technical and design requirements
  8. Provide training and support to internal teams
  9. Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  10. Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features
  11. Follow emerging technologies
  12. Other functions as directed by the Managing Partner

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Any relevant professional certificate is an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 Years Experience in a similar role

Knowledge Requirements:

  1. Back-End Programming Language: A strong command of programming languages is crucial. Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP, and Python
  2. Databases: Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for non-relational data storage and retrieval. In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
  3. APIs (Application Programming Interfaces): Knowledge of the design, build, and consumption of APIs.
  4. Server Management: A good understanding of server architecture, deployment, and maintenance.
  5. Version Control (Git): Proficiency in Git for collaborative development.
  6. Web Servers: Knowledge of web servers like Apache, Nginx, or Microsoft IIS in handling requests and serving web pages.
  7. Front-End Basics: Understanding front-end basic technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) I other to collaborate actively with front-end developers.
  8. Security Practices: Knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
  9. Testing and Debugging: Proficiency in testing tools and debugging techniques is essential.
