Job Position: Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team.
  2. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and experience in developing and deploying high-performance, scalable, and secure backend systems.
  3. The candidate will work closely with other team members, including front-end developers, product managers, and mobile App Engineers, to develop and deliver new features.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the product and design teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  2. Design, develop and deploy backend systems and APIs using modern technologies and best practices.
  3. Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of the backend systems.
  4. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  5. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  6. Identify and troubleshoot issues with the backend systems and work with the team to resolve them.
  7. Work with other developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure continuous integration and delivery of the product.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in backend development, fintech, and blockchain industry.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably in the Fintech industry.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with our tech stack, including but not limited to: Typescript, Nestjs, Postgres, Redis, Typeform and Docker.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a fintech startup or fast-paced environment.
