Job Position: Assistant Human Resources (HR) Officer

Job Location: Abuja

Job Description

  1. We are seeking to hire Assistant HR who will support the HR department in various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, and employee counseling.
  2. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Job Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing:

  1. Assist in the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, posting ads, and managing the hiring process.
  2. Screen resumes and applications and coordinate interviews.
  3. Conduct background checks and verify references.

Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:

  1. Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting orientation sessions.
  2. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and filed appropriately.
  3. Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and necessary documentation.

Training and Development:

  1. Coordinate and schedule training sessions for employees.
  2. Assist in the development of training materials and programs.
  3. Track and report on training progress and outcomes.

Performance Management:

  1. Assist in the performance review process by gathering relevant data and preparing reports.
  2. Support managers in the implementation of performance improvement plans.

Employee Relations:

  1. Address employee queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Assist in the investigation and resolution of employee issues and conflicts.
  3. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

HR Administration:

  1. Maintain employee records and ensure all HR databases are up-to-date.
  2. Prepare and maintain HR-related reports and documentation.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  2. Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance reports.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR role or related position.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
