Job Position: IP Planning and Operations Manager

Job Description
- This is a vital position to support Enterprise business unit in IP planning and providing customized technical solutions to enterprise business customers.
- This person will be interacting with the enterprise business team and customers very extensively.
- Flexible and economical design with timely support of IP related operational issues is the essence of this role.
Job Responsibilities
IP Operations Support:
- Performs service migration activities of IP customers on request.
- Liaises with Enterprise Support service desks in fault isolation and performance related issues. Performs capacity management routines to ensure links are fully optimized and right sized.
- Network management and IP service monitoring.
- Pro-active escalation, follow-through liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality.
Ensures effective Project Management of new IP related service requests and optimization projects:
- Liaises with service providers to validate design and ensures they are fit for purpose.
- Supports the sales teams in responding to new tenders and bids on IP specific designs.
- Ensures effective solution delivery using effective project management techniques.
IP Address Management:
- Creation of contingency plans to minimize service issues.
- Support in Managing & interacting with chosen International ISPs & carriers.
- Interacting with partners and Vendors in relation to IP related issues – Ericsson, Huawei, Aviat, Cisco etc.
Planning IP implementation of new links and solution acceptance testing with Customers:
- Provides Technical validation of new customer’s IP related order requests.
- Configures switches, routers and ensures solutions are fully documented as part of day-to-day business operation.
Enterprise IP Network Design & service Provisioning:
- Produces designs and implementation plans to test and activate new links for enterprise customers. This includes design for IP Access, BGP transit and MPLS VPNs on layer 2 and 3 and for APN services.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in ISP and Carrier networks domain.
- Four (4) years’ experience in an area of IP Routing & Internet Edge Planning.
- Good operational support skills.
- Experience in use of Network Operational tools.
- Programming ability will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
- Sound knowledge of Carrier & Enterprise Network – Planning & Operations.
- Analytical and Presentation skills.
- Customer negotiation skills.
- At least four (4) years’ experience in IP Routing and Switching.
- Excellent IP/MPLS routing knowledge in an ISP environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Cisco & Nokia Router operations.
- Excellent English language skills a must, other languages an advantage.
