Currently, we are building a local and cross border service network to support air, sea and road transportation with the aim to be the leading diversified integrated logistics solution provider between China and emerging markets. Job Position: Human Resource Manager

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading key HR functions with a primary focus on training and development, talent management, and organizational development.
  • This role will ensure the effective recruitment, retention, and development of employees to support the organization’s growth and success in the logistics industry.
  • The HR Manager will also work closely with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, driving a high-performance culture and ensuring employee engagement and development across the board.

Job Responsibilities
Training and Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement training programs aligned with business needs and employee growth.
  • Identify skills gaps and training needs through assessments and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate internal and external training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Measure and improve the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Oversee and enhance the employee on-boarding process.

Talent Management:

  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems.
  • Identify high-potential employees for succession planning.
  • Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce.

Organizational Development:

  • Support change management strategies and transitions within the organization.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to the organizational structure.
  • Foster a strong company culture aligned with organizational values.
  • Develop leadership and management capabilities across departments.
  • Implement initiatives to support employee well-being and workplace safety.

HR Compliance and Employee Relations:

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, providing guidance on best practices.
  • Manage employee relations, including HMO, Pension, NSITF, Group Life Insurance, and other welfare issues.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to develop and facilitate programs that support corporate objectives and individual development.

Operational Support:

  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain management teams to understand operational challenges and address HR needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide HR solutions for managing seasonal workforce fluctuations, scheduling, and staff training needs unique to the logistics industry.
  • Lead complex HR projects assigned by management to support business growth and organizational effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations or Relevant Course of Study.
  • 5-7 years of HR Management experience, with a focus on Training & Development, Talent Management, and Organizational Development especially from the logistics industry and/or an HR Consulting firm.
  • Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or Relevant Course is an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulatory compliance, particularly within the logistics industry
  • Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success.
  • A well recognized Professional HR Certification such as SHRM, SPHRI, CIPM certification is a must
  • A certification from a Training Institute is an added advantage.
