Job Description

  • A major player in the maritime industry, specializing in transportation, logistics, supply chain, and storage solutions, is seeking a highly-skilled, dynamic, and result-oriented Head of Sales & Marketing to lead the company’s strategic sales and marketing efforts.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, enhancing brand visibility, and spearheading sales initiatives that position the company as a leader in the maritime and logistics sectors.

Job Responsibilities
Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies
  • Formulate and implement sales plans that drive revenue growth, expand market share, and position the company as the go-to provider for transportation, logistics, supply chain, and storage services.

Lead the sales team:

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team.
  • Set performance targets, oversee team training and development, and provide strategic direction to ensure success.

Customer acquisition and retention:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maritime and logistics sectors, while also nurturing long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.

Sales forecasting and reporting:

  • Analyze sales performance metrics, forecast trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on key sales indicators and progress towards targets.

Key account management:

  • Develop strong relationships with major clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that the company remains their preferred partner for maritime and logistics services.

Marketing Leadership:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies
  • Create innovative marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and support the company’s sales efforts.
  • Ensure that marketing initiatives align with business objectives and reflect the company’s vision and values.

Market research and analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies and seize new opportunities.

Brand management:

  • Strengthen the company’s brand presence across digital, print, and event-based channels.
  • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging that resonates with target audiences within the maritime and logistics industries.

Digital marketing and lead generation:

  • Oversee the company’s digital marketing strategy, including website management, social media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and online advertising campaigns.
  • Leverage digital tools to drive lead generation and customer engagement.

Event planning and participation:

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Coordinate and manage company-led events and product launches to showcase services and attract new business.

Business development:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify new markets, services, and revenue streams.
  • Contribute to the company’s long-term strategic planning process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA is a strong advantage).
  • 8+ years of experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record of success in the maritime, logistics, or supply chain industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of the maritime industry, including transportation, logistics, supply chain, and storage services.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and implement effective strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Salary
N50,000 monthly.
