Job Position: Business Development Lead

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Description

  • This role provides support to the organization with a special focus on business development solutions, ensuring revenue generation for the organization, managing client accounts, and creating new sales ideas, including innovative strategies, pitches, and business plans.
  • Responsible for the development, growth, and management of the organization’s brand, events, and all print and social media platforms.

Business Development:

  • Lead the Business Development unit by developing a strategy for the unit, managing resources, budget, impact, and focusing on results and revenue for the organization.
  • Identify sales and services that would appeal to new clients.
  • Manage organizational and client expectations.
  • Set up business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective clients.
  • Create presentations on targets, impact measurement, and goals for the marketing team for regular reviews with senior management.
  • Negotiate business development contracts following the organization’s procedures.
  • Find and pursue new business development leads.
  • Work with stakeholders externally to enhance business at the center.
  • Collaborate with PR agencies to enhance brand and communication strategies.
  • Undertake any additional tasks requested by the CEO.

Client Service Support:

  • Manage client accounts.
  • Attend and organize networking events.
  • Build trust and long-term relationships with clients/customers.
  • Work closely with the Clinic Services Manager to support programs and initiatives at the clinics and external stakeholders, focusing on long-term value.
  • Maintain records of clients, referrals, revenue, and other important data.
  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultivate positive interactions and relationships with sales representatives, team leaders, managers, and executives to evaluate sales strategy and results.
  • Develop ways to improve the client experience and build brand loyalty.
  • Research market and industry trends.
  • Regularly update the client database and services provided on the company’s website.

Website Management:

  • Oversee the development and management of the company website, including design and content generation.
  • Ensure website content is current and appeals to potential patients.
  • Increase website traffic and monitor analytics.
  • Update the website with all relevant information.

Marketing, Print, and Social Media

  • Raise the visibility and brand awareness of the company through effective marketing and communications plans to attract clients and promote the company to external audiences.
  • Manage the company’s social media handles (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), creating online communities that promote the brand.
  • Market the company to increase patient footfall at the center through various channels.
  • Collaborate with hospitals in person and via communication channels.
  • Prepare and deliver marketing presentations in various formats, including video for online use.
  • Build relationships with target markets and associations.
  • Produce marketing and informational communications, such as newsletters, delivered through multiple platforms.
  • Ensure core company information (e.g., values, and success stories) is accessible on all platforms.
  • Develop an annual marketing plan aligned with company priorities.

Public Relations, Events and Branding:

  • Media and press liaison to ensure the correct narrative about the company is in the public domain.
  • Collaborate with PR agencies under the direction of the CEO.
  • Ensure key company events are publicized appropriately.
  • Manage the company’s brand and promote all events.
  • Ensure significant publicity mileage for key company events.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BSc/HND, MBA/MSc/MA – Must hold a degree in business, administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in business development, marketing, or customer service in a managerial capacity, with a proven track record of success.
  • Mandatory: A minimum of 3 years of business development experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with colleagues across different time zones.
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results.
