Job Description

  • We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to lead and execute strategic initiatives that will generate N1.5 billion in new annual revenue by the end of 2027. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in the technology industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the market, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for innovation.
  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating mid-to-long term sales growth. They unearth new product and service concepts that will significantly increase Sproxil’s revenue. The ideal candidate will have experience working with sales teams to adopt and sell the new products and services as they scale out of the Business Development Department, freeing up the Business Development Manager to pursue new revenue growth areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company’s overall goals
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential partnerships.
  • Business Development: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Client Acquisition Support: Actively work with the head of sales to engage with potential clients, build strong relationships, and close deals of new solutions to exceed revenue targets.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring high levels of trust that enable partners to continue sharing opportunities for collaboration and revenue development
  • Business Development Pipeline Management: Effectively manage the business development pipeline, track key metrics, and forecast future revenue.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the Product Manager, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations with clients and partners, adopting new solutions developed by the Business Development department, to achieve favorable terms and maximize revenue.
  • Market Positioning: Position the company as a thought leader in the industry through public speaking, industry events, and content marketing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and execution of business strategies. Lead new product and service offering launches with the marketing team’s support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development or sales within the technology industry in Nigeria
  • Proven track record of achieving business development revenue targets and exceeding expectations.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on the market.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think at scale.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
