Job Description
- The Intern, People & Culture, will assist with People and Culture operations for the Nigeria team. This internship provides hands-on experience across various HR functions, focusing on completing employee documentation, supporting HR administration, and ensuring compliance with Evidence Action policies and Nigerian labor practices.
- The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional HR service.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Participate in employee engagement activities, including organizing team-building events and recognition programs.
- Assist in handling employee inquiries and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Collaborate with P&C team members to coordinate training programs and initiatives.
- Help track employee training and development activities.
- Support the payment processing for temporary hires and review permanent hire staff timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide general and clerical support to the People and Culture department and other duties as required.
- Facilitate employee statutory registrations, including NHF, Pension, and other mandatory employee benefits.
- Track Paid Time Off (PTO) for temporary hires.
- Update and maintain all department trackers.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Administration or Social Sciences.
- One (1) Year post-NYSC human resources experience.
- A professional human resource certification will be an added advantage.
- A demonstrated ability to process information into action in a timely manner.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use the following Microsoft Productivity tools: PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Working conditions
- The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
