Job Position: Procurement Officer
Location: Mushin, Lagos

Job Overview

To develop, implement and manage effective, best-in-class systems for the effective management of supplier relationships and interfaces with Food Concepts.

Job Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
Procurement Operations:

1. Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
2. Plan and approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
3. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
4. Collaborate with key personnel to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
5. Prepare purchasing reports for all the agreements they have with suppliers and vendors
6. Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
7. Follow and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
8. Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
9. Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
10. Maintain good supplier relations and negotiate contracts.
11. Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.

Risk and Cost Management:

1. Perform risk management for the supply contract
2. Examine and test existing contracts
3. Ensure a clear audit trail, process transparency and clarity of roles of individual parties in the Procurement process

Key Performance Indicators

1. Quality of business suppliers
2. Procurement turnaround time
3. Quality of goods/services procured
4. Quality of risk management/prevention of risk exposure in the procurement process

Job Specifications

1. A good first degree in social/management/physical sciences.
2. Membership of the CIPS, CILS, CILCS, CISCOM, Lean Six Sigma or any other related professional qualification is an added advantage
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, especially in the QSR/Food Industry sector

Decision Expectations:

3. Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.

Knowledge Requirements:

1. Knowledge of Inventory Management
2. Knowledge of Cost Management
3. Knowledge of applicable legislations, as well as policies and procedures
4. Demonstrates expertise in Procurement management

Working Conditions:

Jobholders typically work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some roles may involve weekend or evening work.
