Job Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various types of filling machines, shrink and sleeving machines, pumps, small gearboxes, and other mechanical systems. This role is essential for ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimising production downtime.

Job Responsibilities

1. Install, operate, and maintain various types of filling machines (liquid, paste, or powder).
2. Conduct mechanical maintenance and repair of shrink and sleeving packaging machines.
3. Maintain and service different types of pumps, including centrifugal and gear pumps.
4. Inspect and repair small gearboxes and mechanical drive systems.
5. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
6. Collaborate with other technical teams for process improvement and troubleshooting.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.
8. Ensure all work is performed by health and safety regulations.
9. Support the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
10. Perform any other mechanical and maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. B.Eng. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 3 – 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
3. Proven expertise with filling machines, shrink/sleeving machines, pumps, and gearboxes.
4. Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machinery manuals.
6. Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
7. Familiarity with maintenance documentation and reporting.
