Job Description

A head nurse oversees nursing staff, manages patient care, and ensures compliance with healthcare regulations while providing leadership and support within the facility.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Staff Management: Head nurses supervise nursing staff, ensuring they adhere to medical best practices and hospital policies. They are responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating nurses.
  2. Patient Care Coordination: They coordinate patient care activities, ensuring that all patients receive appropriate attention and that their needs are met effectively.
  3. Administrative Duties: Head nurses handle various administrative tasks, including maintaining patient records, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  4. Communication: They serve as the primary point of communication between nursing staff, doctors, and administration, facilitating effective collaboration and information sharing.
  5. Quality Assurance: Head nurses monitor the quality of nursing care and implement improvements as necessary, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate nursing staff.
  2. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey important information.
  3. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Salary
N350,000 – N450,000 / month.
