Job Position: Internal Audit Officer
Location: Lagos

 Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Internal Audit officer to support our growing operations by ensuring strong internal controls, compliance and effective risk management across our project sites.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine and project-based internal audits of construction operations, procurement, payroll, and inventory management.
  2. Assess compliance with internal policies, project budgets, and regulatory requirements, including tax and statutory obligations.
  3. Support external audit activities and provide necessary documentation.
  4. Examine financial transactions and construction project expenditures to ensure proper documentation and cost control.
  5. Evaluate internal control systems and recommend improvements to reduce waste, enhance transparency, and optimise processes.
  6. Prepare clear audit reports with findings, risks identified, and actionable recommendations for process improvement.
  7. Monitor and report on the implementation of audit recommendations by relevant departments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in a construction or project-based environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, procurement processes, and financial controls.
  4. Proficiency in G Suite, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage), and audit tools.
  5. Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
