Job Position: Human Resources Manager
Location: OPIC Makun City, Lagos

Job Summary

To manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the company; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organisation’s management and its employees.

Business Advisory:

  1. Function in an active & influential business advisory role with management to drive business results as it affects human resources.
  2. Build an HR team to support the growth of the business
  3. Maintaining the company directory and other organisational charts

Employee Relations:

  1. Maintain human resource staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees
  2. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  3. Develop, maintain, revise and recommend structured personnel policies and procedures for the organisation
  4. Support recruitment initiatives
  5. Drive employee engagement initiatives
  6. Overseeing recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  7. Overseeing exit interviews

Payroll Administration:

  1. Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic salary surveys
  2. Preparing pay budgets
  3. Recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions
  4. Develop and periodically review the compensation and salary grading structure
  5. Conducting annual salary surveys

Talent Management:

  1. Developing, analysing and updating the company’s evaluation program
  2. Planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance.
  3. Training & development of all employees, including leadership development
  4. Maintain professional & technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  5. Build a performance management program with talent pipelines and development opportunities

Compliance:

  1. Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource Federal & State requirements.
  2. Partake in legal research and receive advice on issues related to conflicts of interest, international claims, etc., to avoid disputes and minimise litigation
  3. Maintaining and revising the company’s handbook on policies and procedures

Educational Qualifications & Work Experience

  1. Must have an LL.B or B.Sc./ B.A degree in Social Sciences, HRM or a related field.
  2. Professional certification in HR (such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, SPHRI, PHRI) is an added advantage.
  3. A minimum of 10 years HR related experience, 5 of which should be in a managerial position.
  4. In-depth knowledge of Labour and industrial relations
  5. Immense knowledge about the operational needs of the Business; business-driven with strong financial acumen.
