FairMoney is building the leading mobile bank for emerging markets. We started with a digital microcredit application on Android, and currently roll out additional financial services (current account, savings, debit card) while expanding the product to Western Africa and Southeast Asia.

Job Position: Finance Manager
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid)

Job Responsibilities
Monthly Management Reporting:

  1. Review the monthly management report prepared by the accountants and sign off.
  2. Ensure relevant schedules support the items on the financial statement.
  3. Train and motivate accountants.
  4. Resolve issues raised by the financial control units and other reviewers timely and accurate.

Variance Analysis:

  1. Identify drivers for financial statements’ line items.
  2. Analyse the variance between actuals and budget as well as the change over time.
  3. Recommend corrective actions for adverse variances.

Regulatory Reporting:

  1. Ensure CBN returns are submitted on or before the 5th day of the month.
  2. Ensure the NDIC report and other regulatory returns are submitted as at when due.
  3. Manage CBN audits.

Year-End Close/Statutory Audits:

  1. Lead the annual statutory audit.

Requirements

  1. A qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAN).
  2. Must be very good with IFRS.
  3. Have Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  4. SQL and other data analytics skills are a major advantage.
  5. Have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience.
  6. Experience in the audit and/or financial service industry is necessary.
  7. Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  8. Be an effective team player with a positive attitude.
  9. Must be able to work without supervision.
