Job Position: Social Media Officer
Location: Apata, Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

The Social Media Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Freee Recycle’s social media strategy.

The role involves creating engaging content, building online communities, and promoting the company’s sustainability initiatives to increase brand awareness and stakeholder engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with company goals.
  2. Create, schedule, and publish high-quality content (text, images, graphics, and videos) across all social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  3. Monitor, respond, and engage with followers, stakeholders, and online communities.
  4. Track and analyse performance metrics (reach, engagement, impressions, leads) to improve strategy.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to highlight company activities, sustainability projects, and achievements.
  6. Run paid advertising campaigns and optimise for ROI.
  7. Stay updated with social media trends, best practices, and competitor activities.
  8. Ensure brand consistency in voice, design, and messaging across channels.
  9. Support in content creation for newsletters, website updates, and other digital communication needs.
  10. Promote Freee Recycle’s advocacy on environmental sustainability and the circular economy.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Mass Communication, or related field.
  2. Minimum 1–3 years of proven experience as a Social Media Officer, Content Creator, or Digital Marketer.
  3. Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and analytics tools.
  4. Excellent copywriting, storytelling, and content creation skills.
  5. Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop, video editing, or other creative tools (an advantage).
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
  7. Passion for sustainability, recycling, and environmental advocacy.
