Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

To ensure that UP settlement account is always adequately funded to accommodate merchant and stakeholders’ settlements daily.

Ensure rendition of monthly Income Reports.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Daily monitoring of Scheme Receivables – Amount due to UP as licensed Acquirer for both domestic and International transactions (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, CUP and Payattitude).
  2. Daily monitoring of the amount due to UP from co-acquirers.
  3. Daily acquirer obligation to merchants.
  4. Monitoring and reporting of daily balances into the receivables account for settlement from MasterCard Naira.
  5. Monitoring and reporting daily balances into the receivables account for settlement from Visa Naira.
  6. Monitoring and reporting daily balances into receivables account for settlement from various schemes for Dollar transactions.
  7. Monitor and report the accuracy of debits into the settlement account in favour of merchants, PTSP, PTO, domestic switches and PTSA.
  8. Monitor and report the accuracy of debits into the settlement account in favour of ATM settlement.
  9. Revenue Assurance: Recover PTSP and TO Income (Receivable) from Other Settlement Agents-(e.g ISW & Zenith Bank).
  10. Review of the MSC charged to merchants and clients.
  11. Re-computation and Assurance of UP’s transaction-based revenues (PTSP, PTO, Switch, Processing Fee, Acquirer and Acquirer Margin) and other fees charged by UP and collected daily.
  12. Management Accounts: To ensure that Management obtains timely and consistently relevant financial information for decision-making and planning purposes.
  13. Rendition of Income Reports to stakeholders in an agreed format.
  14. Daily Income Analysis Report.
  15. GL Schedules: To ensure that errors are detected and corrected promptly for specific GL Accounts.
  16. Accounting correctly in the GL for all schemes (local and international); fee deductions before the Scheme Net Settlement.
  17. Rendition of Receivable reports.
  18. Fund recoveries of all single settlement and 2UP disputed merchant transactions.
  19. Accounting correctly in the GL for all Verve transactions scheme receivables.
  20. Preparation of the disbursement schedule for the social welfare scheme.
  21. Accounting correctly in the GL for revenue earned by UP for all social investment activities carried out.
  22. Accounting correctly in the GL for all payments of scheme receivables.
  23. Accounting correctly in the GL for UP as merchant receivables (PayArena) and a daily tracker of sales against inventory.
  24. Accounting correctly in the GL for the amount due to other PTSPs and PTO (different from UP).
  25. Treasury Function.

KPI

  1. 99% accuracy in settlement
  2. Timeliness of Reports
  3. 100% Documentation.

Requirements

  1. First Degree in Accounting or any numerate subject.
  2. Professional membership of ICAN/CIMA/ACCA or similar recognised professional accounting bodies
  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience post NYSC.
