Job Position: Team Lead, Financial Reporting
Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and other management reports for management’s decision-making.
  2. Support the Head, Finance, in preparation of the annual financial statement, annual and periodic internal and external audits and attending to auditors’ queries promptly.
  3. Managing the Monthly GL reconciliation process
  4. Ensure the Management Account is ready and reviewed by the 3rd Working day of every month.
  5. Supports managing the external audit process for financial statements issuance and tax audits, desk reviews during interim and year-end audit exercises.
  6. Monitor regularisation of issues raised in the external audit management letter and internal audit reports.
  7. Responsible for reviewing the general ledger every month to detect and rectify errors and incorrect postings to align all GL balances to the accounts and FS.
  8. Coordination and management of month-end Journals – Before the 24th of every month, GLs Interdepartmental Review
  9. End of the month, monthly Liaison with ALL departmental teams with input data feeding into the GL, to ensure GL positions are reconciled to departmental units’ balances.
  10. Oversee the maintenance of non-investment accounting prepayments and accruals schedules, and prepare the monthly journals for posting.
  11. Supervise the fixed assets register maintenance process and prepare the monthly depreciation journal for posting.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  2. A postgraduate degree or MBA in Finance Management or a related discipline is an advantage.
  3. Minimum of Six (6) years relevant experience with at least three (3) years mid-managerial experience, preferably in an Insurance firm.
  4. A professional qualification of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Associate status is mandatory.
  5. Strong Management skills with a high degree of professionalism & maturity.
  6. Time Management and the ability to deal with details.
  7. Ability to show impartiality and zeal to maintain integrity.
