Job Position: Mechanical Lead
Location: Esit Eket, Akwa Ibom

Job Purpose / Objectives

To maintain mechanical systems, including rotation and static equipment, safely and efficiently across all Accugas facilities.

Provide technical input on mechanical systems to the engineering team, from conceptual engineering through detailed design to the construction, installation, and commissioning phase.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the activities of the mechanical team on a day-to-day basis and report to the maintenance supervisor.
  2. Plan and execute all planned / unplanned maintenance activities in accordance with company policies, OEM specifications and statutory requirements.
  3. Provide support to the maintenance supervisor in preparation of the annual budget for all mechanical spares, accessories, and services.
  4. Provide mechanical support to the maintenance team for inter-disciplinary maintenance inspections and interventions.
  5. Develop and maintain databases for all mechanical safety-critical equipment in the plant and ensure execution of periodic maintenance in accordance with statutory requirements.
  6. Coordinate the activities of third-party contractors during major equipment overhaul, in accordance with the approved scope of work and industry best practices.
  7. Work with the engineering team and contractors on plant modification and upgrade of mechanical systems, and provide field supervision of activities.
  8. Assist the maintenance supervisor in developing and maintaining KPI for all rotating equipment across field locations.
  9. Liaise with the maintenance planner to identify scheduled maintenance activities and ensure proper documentation.
  10. Perform onsite assembly, installation and repair of mechanical systems including boilers/heaters, glycol regeneration system, mechanical refrigeration system, fuel gas system, hydrant system, pressure regulators, heat exchangers, etc.
  11. Provide documented evaluation of equipment performance, availability and reliability.
  12. Lead the maintenance team on all major planned / unplanned maintenance activities/overhauls across field locations.
  13. Lead mechanical and integrity-related operational interventions and support failure and incident investigations as required.
  14. Participate in peer reviews, risk assessments and hazard analysis as required.
  15. Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the availability of critical spares.
  16. Provide expertise and assist with facilities start-up and operations from a mechanical perspective.
  17. Observe company safety rules and good housekeeping in accordance with Accugas’ operating philosophy.
  18. Follow plant operating philosophy and guidelines and serve as a team leader for the maintenance team.
  19. Maintain a clean work environment in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
  20. Handle duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Line Manager.

Job & Main Specifications
Qualification:

Candidate must possess a minimum of HND or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited higher institution, with at least seven (7) years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry; two (2) of which should have been in a supervisory role.
