Job Position: Senior Architect
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description

As a senior member of the architectural team, you will create and lead the designs for new construction projects, alterations and redevelopments.

You’ll also use your specialist construction knowledge and high-level drawing skills to design buildings that are functional, safe, sustainable and aesthetically pleasing.

You will stay involved throughout the construction process, adapting the plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs.

You will also mentor junior architects.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Creating building designs and highly detailed drawings, both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications
  2. Liaising with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects
  3. Working around constraining factors such as town planning regulations, environmental impact and project budget
  4. Working closely with a team of other professionals, such as site engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists.
  5. Writing and presenting reports, proposals, applications and contracts
  6. Specifying the requirements for assigned projects
  7. Adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction
  8. Playing a part in project and team management
  9. Any other related duties from time to time.

Requirements
Qualification:

  1. Masters + BSc/ HND in Architecture (Design and Drafting).

Experience:

  1. 6 Years of post-graduation experience.

Project Experience Required:

  1. Experience in translating customer requirements into project briefs and translating the  same to the team.
  2. Demonstrate sound judgement in evaluating project risks and benefits and advising management of the same.

Technical Competencies:

  1. Ability to obtain the project brief and clearly disseminate it to team members.
  2. Must be up to date with modern Architectural trends
  3. Excellent at facilitating client meetings
  4. Good knowledge of BOQ, Civil, MEP and Procurement processes.
  5. Excellent knowledge of Design Compliance
  6. Adequate knowledge of Architectural Standards (NEUFERT)
  7. Proficient in Design Software (AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) Mood Board Presentation and Research.
  8. Good knowledge of Design Processes
  9. Have strong visual awareness and an eye for detail
  10. Have good drawing skills, with the ability to work in three dimensions (3D)
  11. Be inventive and imaginative
  12. Be passionate about buildings and the built environment
  13. Experience producing quality sets of drawings
  14. Ability to incorporate Civil and MEP requirements in Architectural Designs.
  15. Good understanding of Urban Planning Bye-laws.
  16. Good Site Surveys
  17. Able to prepare Approval Drawings
  18. Adequate Speed and Efficiency at Work
  19. Proficiency in incorporating Civil and MEP requirements in Architectural Designs
  20. Ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders on projects (project managers, Quantity Surveyors, consultants, etc.)
  21. Evidently followed through on assigned projects,
  22. Good knowledge of Bill of Quantities, Civil, MEP and Procurement processes.

Computer Literacy:

  1. MS Office: Word and Excel, AUTOCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Revit.
