Job Position: Head of Software Development
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of Software Development to lead the execution of our Client technology strategy in Nigeria.

This role is responsible for delivery, compliance, security, and scaling of digital financial platforms, while reporting to the Chief Technical Consultant and the Board.

It requires a hands-on, highly technical leader with deep fintech expertise, strong engineering skills, and proven experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead backend, frontend, mobile, and DevOps engineers to deliver fintech products (wallets, QR payments, card services, microloans, dashboards).
  2. Oversee system integrations (CBS, NIBSS, Interswitch, Visa, Verve, Mastercard).
  3. Ensure platforms meet regulatory and security standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, CBN/NIBSS).
  4. Manage cloud-native deployments (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools.
  5. Implement fraud prevention, risk management, and high-availability systems.
  6. Recruit, mentor, and grow strong engineering and security teams.
  7. Drive agile and DevSecOps practices.

Required Technical Expertise:

  1. Backend: Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, Python, Go
  2. Frontend: React.js, Angular, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  3. Mobile: Flutter, Kotlin (Android), Swift (iOS)
  4. Messaging & Streaming: Kafka, RabbitMQ
  5. AI/ML & Analytics: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, Kafka Streams
  6. Security & Compliance: PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, AES-256, TLS 1.3, OAuth 2.0, MFA, fraud detection systems
  7. Infrastructure & Operations: AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana
  8. APIs & Performance: REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Redis caching, structured error handling

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  2. 8–12 years in senior technology roles (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Tech).
  3. Strong background in fintech, payments, or digital banking platforms.
  4. Proven experience with large-scale, high-availability systems.
  5. In-depth knowledge of Nigerian fintech regulations (CBN/NIBSS).
  6. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
