Job Position: Sales Manager
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

The Sales Manager will lead and coordinate sales operations, drive revenue growth, and develop strategies to increase market share.

The ideal candidate must have a strong industry experience in construction or chemical manufacturing, a proven track record of closing B2B deals, and exceptional leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop growth strategies and plans to manage and retain relationships with key/existing clients.
  2. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors.
  3. Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development to negotiation and closing.
  4. Monitor industry trends, market activity, and competitors to refine strategies and stay ahead.
  5. Collaborate with production, logistics, and technical teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products/services.
  6. Prepare regular sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior management.
  7. Coach and supervise the sales team, setting clear KPIs and fostering a high-performance culture.
  8. Have in-depth knowledge of products and value propositions.
  9. Negotiate with stakeholders to identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
  10. Research business opportunities and viable income streams.
  11. Coordinating the Technical Sales Executives and is directly responsible for the sales process management.
  12. Follow industry trends locally and internationally.
  13. Ensure that sales qualified leads (SQLs) are converting to opportunities and supporting sales pipeline growth.
  14. Identify opportunities for improvement across sales operations and make recommendations to executive leadership for streamlining processes.

Job Requirements

  1. First Degree in engineering, chemistry and related fields.
  2. 5- 7 years of relevant work experience selling construction chemical products or services (this is a mandatory requirement; don’t apply if you don’t have construction chemical sales experience).
  3. Proven experience in B2B sales or a relevant role.
  4. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  5. Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  6. Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques.
  7. Fast learner with and passion for sales.
  8. Good knowledge of the construction industry.
  9. Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  10. Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations with good communication skills.
  11. Ability to drive and must be ready for extensive travel.
