Job Position: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the company’s ongoing operations and drive strategic initiatives that align with business goals.

The COO will play a critical role in scaling the organisation, improving efficiency, and ensuring operational excellence across all departments.

Candidates with experience in the fintech industry will have an added advantage, given the sector’s fast-paced, regulatory, and technology-driven nature.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, etc.).
  2. Develop and implement operational strategies that support business objectives and long-term growth.
  3. Establish and monitor performance metrics, KPIs, and operational goals.
  4. Drive operational efficiency, process optimisation, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, corporate governance, and risk management standards.
  6. Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive fundraising, investor relations, and expansion strategies.
  7. Provide leadership and mentorship to senior management teams.
  8. Represent the organization in key meetings with stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  9. Lead organisational change, digital transformation, and innovation projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  2. 6+ years of senior leadership experience in operations, strategy, or executive management.
  3. Proven track record of scaling organisations and leading cross-functional teams.
  4. Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  6. Fintech industry experience is an added advantage (understanding of financial regulations, digital payments, lending, blockchain, or related sectors).
