Job Description
A Business Development Officer (BDO) job description centres on identifying and developing growth opportunities to increase revenue through strategic planning, market research, and relationship-building with new and existing clients. Key responsibilities include creating business plans, negotiating deals, analyzing market trends, and managing projects to achieve sales goals. The role requires strong communication, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Strategic planning: Develop and execute strategies for business development and growth.
- Market analysis: Research and analyse market trends, identify new business opportunities, and monitor competitors.
- Client relations: Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients, and create and improve proposals.
- Sales and negotiation: Generate leads, negotiate contracts, and work to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Project and budget management: Manage the implementation of business strategies, oversee budgets, and track key performance metrics.
Required skills and qualifications
- Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential. Strong attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office are also important.
- Experience: Proven success in a sales or business development role is often required, and candidates should be self-driven.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is typically required.
Salary
N160,000 – N200,000 monthly.
