Our primary goal is to be the “go to” Quality Assurance & Software Testing company in East and West Africa while developing offshore resources to fill test automation positions (and other hard-to-find software testing capabilities) in the North America and European markets.

Job Position: Scrum Master

About the Role

We are seeking a Skilled Scrum Master to join our growing technology team; a leading Microfinance Bank focused on driving financial inclusion through innovative digital solutions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating agile processes, promoting collaboration, and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple cross-functional teams.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient and scalable financial products that enhance our customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more agile teams, ensuring adherence to agile principles and best practices.
  2. Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  3. Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure well-defined product backlogs and sprint goals.
  4. Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress and delivery.
  5. Support the team in achieving a sustainable pace and continuous improvement.
  6. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration within teams.
  7. Track and communicate team progress using appropriate metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity).
  8. Act as a servant leader — protecting the team from distractions and enabling focus on sprint goals.
  9. Partner with other Scrum Masters and delivery leads to enhance overall agile maturity across the organisation.
  10. Ensure alignment of product delivery with compliance and regulatory requirements within the banking and financial sector.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager in a technology-driven environment.
  3. Proven experience working within financial services, fintech, or microfinance institutions (preferred).
  4. Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and software development life cycles.
  5. Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent) is required.
  6. Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  7. Strong analytical mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  8. Experience using agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or ClickUp.

Nice to Have:

  1. Exposure to digital banking, payment systems, or loan management platforms.
  2. Experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes.
  3. Familiarity with agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS).
