Job Position: Feed Mill Manager
Location: Asaba, Delta
Role Overview
The Feed Mill Manager will oversee daily feed mill operations, manage staff and equipment, and ensure efficient production of consistent, high-quality feed.
A key requirement of this role is the ability to formulate nutritionally balanced feed for multiple livestock categories based on scientific principles, market demand, and company standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all feed mill operations, including raw material intake, grinding, mixing, pelleting, and bagging.
- Formulate feed for poultry, goats, pigs, fish, and other livestock based on nutritional requirements and market demand.
- Ensure feed quality meets industry standards and internal specifications.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials and finished products; coordinate procurement with the supply chain team.
- Supervise feed mill staff, provide training, and enforce safety and operational protocols.
- Maintain and service feed mill machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Implement cost control measures to optimise efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare and present production and quality control reports to management.
- Collaborate with veterinary and nutrition experts to improve feed performance and livestock productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Feed Technology, or a related field.
- 7 – 10 years proven experience in feed mill operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in feed formulation for multiple livestock species (poultry, goat, pig, fish).
- Proficiency with feed formulation software and modern feed production technology.
- Solid knowledge of raw materials, quality assurance, and feed safety standards.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
