Job Position: Account Assistant

Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Account Assistant at Ades Ventures Nigeria Ltd in Ibadan. The Account Assistant will perform the following duties:
Financial Record Keeping:

  1. Assist in maintaining and updating financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments and other financial documents.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the accounting system.

Transaction Processing:

  1. Process, post and record financial transactions, including payments, expenses, and revenue on the accounting software.
  2. Verify and reconcile transactions to ensure accuracy.

Bank Reconciliation:

  1. Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.
  2. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Invoice Processing:

  1. Generate and process invoices for Suppliers and customers.
  2. Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.

Expense Management:

  1. Assist in monitoring and managing company expenses.
  2. Verify and process employee expense reports.

Assist in Budgeting:

  1. Support the budgeting process by providing relevant financial information.
  2. Assist in monitoring actual performance against budget.

Financial Reporting:

  1. Assist in working on schedules as supportive documents to the financial reports, summaries, and statements as needed.
  2. Assist in providing financial information for internal and external audits.

Communication and Coordination:

  1. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
  2. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  3. Ensure compliance with the company operational policies and regulations

Other Task Assigned:

  • Carry out any other accounting related tasks that my assigned by the superior officer.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience.
  3. Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office applications.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Basic knowledge of Sage 200 is a plus.
